Educational Psychology Service (EPS)

We provide high-quality psychological support to children, young people, and their families to improve their educational and well-being outcomes. We work in partnership with families, children’s centres, early years settings, schools, further education settings and other agencies to improve their understanding of a child or young person’s educational, developmental, and psychological needs and how to meet them.

We provide support to children and young people through:

  • Consultations with staff and parents/carers about children who have emerging or ongoing special educational needs in schools or educational settings. We will help your child’s school or educational settings to put together a programme of support for your child.
  • Individual assessment and advice on appropriate intervention programmes for children and young people with complex or more severe educational needs.
  • Group-based programmes with children in small groups or with the whole class.
  • Staff training and development in schools.
  • We also offer workshops to parents and carers to help develop their skills and confidence.HCPC registered logo
  • All educational psychologists in our team have had specialist postgraduate training in educational psychology and are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (external link).

For schools and education settings

  • The EPS is a part-traded service. Our practice incorporates consultation, assessment, intervention, research and evaluation, training, and systemic work with settings.
  • Each school in Haringey has access to a Link Education Psychologist (EP), with most settings having more than one. This helps support our service delivery and allows our team to work with schools often.
  • There is no charge for settings to access our core, statutory and trailblazer work.
    • Please note, our Service Delivery Overview will be added here once it's finalised which will provide information on core, statutory, and trailblazer work.
