Artsmark and Arts Awards at Bruce Castle Museum

Artsmark is the creative quality standard for schools and education settings, awarded by Arts Council England, recognising their commitment to high quality arts and cultural education.

Bruce Castle is part of the Artsmark Partnership Programme, an endorsed network of organisations that support educational settings on their Artsmark journey, inspiring children and young people to create, experience and participate in great arts and culture.

We offer education settings who are working towards, or currently hold an Artsmark Award, the following opportunities:

  • A range of arts and cultural experiences for children
  • Support with planning a creative curriculum
  • CPD sessions for teachers
  • Delivery of Arts Award through our ‘Discover in a Day’ sessions
  • Guidance and practical support to help your pupils achieve Arts Award

Arts Award

Arts Award supports young people to experience a range of art forms, be inspired by artists and create their own works of art.

Bruce Castle is a registered Arts Award Centre and our education team are trained advisors at Discover and Explore levels.  Since developing our Arts Award offer, we have supported over 200 children achieve an Arts Award. We offer:

  • Discover in a Day - spend a day at Bruce Castle as our staff help deliver and assess your Arts Award: Discover
  • Specially designed Arts Award logs for use within the museum
  • A choice of art forms and cultural experiences for older students
  • Guidance and practical support to help your pupils achieve Arts Award
