Wood Green BID renewed for a second five-year term
Councillor Adam Jogee, Cabinet Member for Economic Development, Jobs and Community Cohesion has issued a statement following the successful renewal of the Wood Green Business Improvement District (BID).
“We are delighted that Wood Green Business Improvement District (BID) has been successful at ballot and will operate for a second five-year term across an expanded area which includes both Wood Green and Turnpike Lane businesses.
The ballot has taken place against the difficult backdrop of record levels of inflation resulting in the cost-of-living crisis and energy cost increases, with the impact of Brexit and the pandemic are still being felt. The positive outcome clearly shows the impact the BID has had in supporting its business community.
“Since 2018, they have played an integral role in developing Wood Green town centre. They’ve supported businesses through the pandemic, introduced Street Rangers, been instrumental in the Business Crime Reduction Partnership with us and the Met Police and run a wide events programme including Haringey Pride, Community Fun Days and Christmas celebration activities to encourage visitors to the Wood Green.
“The BID will raise up to £1.67 million in levy over five years to spend in the local area on projects the business community have prioritised, including more business support programmes and business networking opportunities.”
The results can be seen on the result of Wood Green BID ballot 2023 webpage.
