Following a recent incident of hateful Islamophobic graffiti on Florence Road, N4, Leader of Haringey Council Cllir Peray Ahmet and Cabinet Member for Community Safety and Cohesion Cllr Adam Jogee have issued the following joint statement:
“We were horrified to hear the news of the recent Islamophobic graffiti incident in Florence Road N4.
“We know how distressing incidents like this can be for the whole community. We would like to reassure the victims and all our Muslim residents that we are working closely with local police to ensure that this case is investigated and that the perpetrators are brought to justice.
“Our teams are also engaging with our Muslim communities to provide support, information and reassurance.
“There is absolutely no place for hate crime in Haringey, not now and not ever. We will continue to do everything in our power to make sure that Haringey is a place where all of our diverse communities can feel safe, welcome and proud to call their home.”
