Haringey launches anti-discrimination campaign
Today (1 November 2021) marks the start of our #WipeOutDiscrimination campaign which aims to raise awareness about what discrimination looks like so that we can all work together to wipe it out of Haringey.
Haringey is such a rich and diverse borough, with people and communities from all different races, faiths, and backgrounds. It should be a place where everyone is welcomed and treated fairly, but unfortunately that is not always the case.
There are still some residents who face hate crime or discrimination because of who they are, and this cannot be tolerated in our borough.
Haringey has been and continues to be at the forefront of the fight against discrimination, with a rich history of championing equal rights for all. We have come a long way, but we are not perfect, and there is still much more to do. So, we are launching our #WipeOutDiscrimination campaign to:
- educate residents about different types of discrimination
- share stories and experiences from different people in our community
- celebrate Haringey’s diversity and rich #HistoryAgainstHate
There is no place for hate or discrimination in Haringey, so we all need to continue working together to help make our borough a safe place for all.
Haringey welcomes everyone.
