2022 awards ceremony for Haringey Looked-After Children

Friday 18 November, 5pm to 8pm

Haringey Virtual School in partnership with Tottenham Hotspur Foundation will be hosting the 2022 Haringey Educational Achievement Awards for Looked-After Children of secondary school age.

The event is something we do annually and it’s always a fantastic occasion!

This year, it’s being held at the Tottenham stadium and will be made even more special as we have secured Jermain Defoe to present the awards. This is extremely noteworthy as Jermain is an Academy coach and Ambassador who fronted a project called E18GHTEEN (which ties into this year’s awards theme).

E18ghteen is an ongoing joint project with Haringey Virtual School and Tottenham Hotspur Football Club that offers individually tailored learning and development programmes with free access to a range of life skill workshops, sport activities and employment opportunities.

This year, we have received over 100+ nominations from teachers, foster carers and social workers and anticipate a record turnout of both young people and adults including Madam Mayor of Haringey, Haringey and Tottenham directorate.

Throughout the evening, young people will be presented with certificates and applauded for their success and accomplishments. In between, there will be a few guest speakers, a sprinkling of entertainment, musical performances and some amazing raffle ticket prizes to be won.

The event also includes refreshments and a feast of food to cater for all palates!

Attendance at the awards is strictly by invitation only.

Award categories

The five identified categories for this year’s Educational Achievement Awards are:

  • GCSE
  • Learning Achievement
  • Community Involvement and Engagement
  • Leadership and Responsibility

We take this opportunity to thank all those that have taken the time to nominate and continue to encourage and support our young people.

Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride!
