SUGAR SMART Haringey - Resources for Primary Schools
As part of SUGAR SMART Haringey, we are asking schools to help children to eat less sugar and drink more water. This campaign is a priority for the Haringey Healthy Schools Programme, and schools can achieve their Healthy Schools London Silver and Gold awards through participation in this initiative.
To provide support to schools in becoming a SUGAR SMART school, Healthy Schools Haringey has produced a checklist and resources to work towards the following three pledges.
- Become a water only school (except for plain milk)
- Reduce sugar in snacks and food eaten at school
- Raise awareness about sugar with children and families
To become a SUGAR SMART school please complete the SUGAR SMART checklist for Haringey primary schools (Word, 130KB) and send it to healthy.schools@haringey.gov.uk
