If you’re living with a physical health condition, mental health condition or have an additional learning need, there’s a range of programmes on offer to help you begin or maintain employment.

Haringey Council offers specialist employment support through Haringey Works (external link) for residents with a Learning Disability and/or Autism and residents dealing with alcohol and substance misuse.

Local Partner health related employment support

The following employment support programmes are also available to Haringey residents but aren’t delivered directly by the council:

The programme follows the Individual Placement Support model which means working with an employment specialist who will create a personalised approach to help with finding employment and continue to support participants when they are placed in the role.

The service is delivered by Shaw Trust, the country’s largest social enterprise in the employment sector. For further information email info.thrive@thrivehe.com or call 0808 134 6214.

The service is delivered by Twining Enterprise, one of London’s leading mental health and employment charities. For further information please contact m.groza@twiningenterprise.org.uk.

The programme helps manage health while finding a sustainable London Living Wage job. Referrals can be made by Job Centre Works Coaches or through Central London Works (external link).

  • Central London Works- WHP Pioneer (external link) is a programme that supports residents who are unemployed and not required to search for work as park of Universal Credit. The programme focusses on work placements and support whilst in work with upskilling and training. Specialist support is available to people with a disability or disabilities.

 Both Central London Works programmes are delivered by Ingeus (external link), a social enterprise that helps people improve their skills, employment and wellbeing.
