Business parking permit

  • Eligibility
  • Permit prices
  • Where you can park
  • Buy or renew a business parking permit

A business parking permit allows someone with a business in Haringey to park in the controlled parking zone (CPZ) where the business is based.

More information on the virtual permit system can be found in our booklet  Your new Parking Permit: a guide to your new Virtual Parking Permit (PDF, 209KB)

Eligibility

To be eligible for a business parking permit, the following must apply:

  • you run a business in a controlled parking zone (CPZ)
  • you can show us that parking your vehicle in the CPZ is essential to the successful operation of your business. This doesn’t include the need to commute to and from the business.

We reserve the right to refuse a permit where we believe the business case doesn’t justify the essential need for a permit.

Where you can park

A business parking permit is valid for use only in relevant parking bays within the CPZ in which the business is based. Business permit holders may park in:

  • business permit-only bays
  • shared use bays (permit holders and pay by phone)

Business permits aren’t valid in:

  • residents-only bays
  • pay by phone-only bays
  • Resident permit shared use bays (resident permit holders and pay by phone)

The type of bay is indicated on signs adjacent to the bays.

Buy or renew a business parking permit

The council has introduced virtual permits, replacing paper permits.

Please select the appropriate button below for more information about Business parking permits:

Business parking permit: buy or renew

Buy or renew a business permit

We are no longer issuing paper business parking permits. If you have a current paper permit, please wait until it expires before applying for a new virtual permit.

Click the button below to create an online parking account to apply for and buy a permit. If you already have an account, sign in and follow the instructions to apply for a business permit.

Your permit will be a virtual permit and you won’t have to print it at home or wait for us to send it to you.

You will need to provide the following information:

  • proof of the business’s location in the CPZ – an item of current printed business stationery showing the trading address and VAT registration number or company registration number
  • proof of vehicle ownership – a vehicle registration document in the business’s name. If the registration document isn’t in the business name, we will need a statement on company headed paper and signed by the company secretary
  • a letter on company headed paper explaining how the vehicle is used to support your business. This will be considered by a council officer, who will make the decision whether or not to issue the permit

Once your application is approved you will be able to use your virtual permit straight away.

If you are experiencing problems using your parking permit account, you can contact Customer Services on 020 8489 1000.

Making changes to your virtual permit

You can make changes to your permit in your online parking account.

Updating your contact details

You can update your email address or phone number within your personal details in your online parking account.

Changing your vehicle

You can apply to change the vehicle, or the vehicle’s license plate in your online parking account. This is also known as the number plate or vehicle registration mark (VRM). Do so by viewing the current permit within your online parking account, and selecting the appropriate option.

You will need to upload the following:

  • your new vehicle's V5C document (log book) or a bill of sale on company headed paper
  • a signed new keeper’s slip
  • if the only change is the VRM, please provide a scanned copy of the certificate of entitlement (V750) provided from the DVLA

If the new vehicle falls into a different emission banding (see the permit price list) we will issue you with a pro rata refund, or contact you to request an additional payment.

Changing address

If you’ve moved within the CPZ, or to another Haringey CPZ, you can change your address within your personal details in your online parking account. You will be asked to upload proofs for your new address, such as a utility bill, bank statement or rental agreement.

If you have moved outside a Haringey CPZ, please see Refunds below.
