60 free tickets have been given to carer leavers in our borough for the fantastic gigs by event organisers Festival Republic this month.
This generous giveaway means 15 care leavers and their respective guests will get to enjoy headliners Stereophonics, Fontaines D.C. and Slayer across the Friday 4 July-Sunday 6 July weekend.
15 of their peers and plus ones will also attend the Wireless Festival – featuring Boy Better Know, Burna Boy, PartyNextDoor, Summer Walker and Vybz Kartel and headlined by Canadian superstar Drake – between Friday 11 July and Sunday 13 July.
A similar arrangement occurred last summer, when our looked-after young people and their respective guests were excited to see the likes of Doja Cat, Don Toliver, Flo Milli, Ice Spice, J Hus, Nicki Minaj and 21 Savage all perform live.
One of our care leavers commented:
The Wireless tickets were a very generous gesture! I went with my best friend and we had so much fun!
A looked-after young person said:
It was my first-ever concert and I thoroughly enjoyed it. A brilliant day to remember for a long time!
Another added:
Wireless was a fun experience and I enjoyed myself. It’s something I will definitely want to do again.
Others got to see Michael Bibi, Hozier and the Wolf Tones play hits from their set lists the previous weekend.
One of the attendees at the Hozier gig said:
We had such a good time together! It was nice to have something fun to do that wasn’t house/work-related.
He (Hozier) was actually really good, even though we didn’t know all the songs. It was a really cool vibe and I’m glad we went. Thank you so much again for the lovely gift :).
Another commented:
We both had an amazing day! It was so much fun and has set the bar high as it was her first-ever concert!
50 young carer leavers were given complimentary tickets to Beyonce’s Renaissance World Tour gig at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium back in May 2023 too.
