The vision sets out how the council will work together with partners, residents, and Haringey’s thriving voluntary and community sector to create a borough where everyone can belong and thrive.
Haringey 2035 sets out six Calls to Action for everyone in Haringey to work together towards over the next 10 years: safe and affordable housing, thriving places, supporting children and young people’s experiences and skills, feeling safe and being safe, tackling inequalities in health and wellbeing, and supporting greener choices.
The event gave attendees the opportunity to discuss collaborative solutions to the challenges facing the borough, and how different services and organisations can work together to address the key themes outlined in the vision.
The proceedings concluded with attendees writing “postcards from the future”, imagining how life can be improved for Haringey’s communities through collective work over the next decade.
Leader of the Council, Cllr Peray Ahmet said:
“The launch will be the vision for our borough from 2025 to 2035.
“We’ve been joined by a whole series of partners, stakeholders, community members, voluntary sector, the whole Haringey community coming together for our collective vision.
“We’ll be working together in collaboration to deliver a vision where everyone in Haringey can belong and thrive.”
Clare Henderson from NHS North Central London Integrated Care Board said:
"Haringey 2035 chimes a lot with what we see in our work, especially mental health and social wellbeing, which are key determinants of health.
"We recognise many of the challenges set out in the vision, and have heard similar ideas and aspirations from residents through our engagement work, and are committed to tackling them together with partners including the council.
"We're keen to continue our close work with the council towards our joint vision for a healthy and thriving borough.”
