Northumberland Park Station public realm improvements

Working together with you the local community and muf architecture/art, we've developed plans for new planting, street improvements and clear signposts along Park Lane to the Lee Valley Regional Park to make it  easier and more pleasant to access nature and lead an active lifestyle.

The project has focused around Northumberland Park Station as residents have previously highlighted that it acts as a barrier to the nearby green space of the Lee Valley. The project will create a cleaner, safer, accessible and attractive environment around the station for residents, local businesses and visitors.

Thank you to everyone who gave their feedback on the suggested improvements.

You can see draft plans that the community commented on below:

Your feedback on the emerging designs has helped guide the project's direction.

Next steps

The council's Highways team will be leading on the installation of this project. The improvements include:

  • A rain garden with trees
  • Signage to the Lee Valley
  • Benches, bins, bike stands and bollards
  • Improved, environmentally friendly lighting
  • Planters with seating and trees

Works are currently scheduled to start in early June, after the home matches of the football season have ended and the Beyoncé Knowles tour dates conclude.

The construction is planned to end in August 2023 (subject to change).
