LTN exemptions: Haringey disability transport and Dial-a-Ride

This exemption applies to:

• services organised or commissioned by us to transport people with a disability
• vehicles that are part of the regular fleet transporting adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) and learning disabilities
• vehicles of external organisations that have been organised or commissioned by us to transport people with a disability – as long as this is a regular arrangement using the same vehicles
• Transport for London’s Dial-a-Ride service

You do not need to apply for this exemption.

Exemptions for Dial-a-Ride Services are managed through visual vehicle identification. All other exemptions are managed by telling us a vehicle's registration number in advance.

Where vehicles are exempt

The exemption applies to all LTNs but only includes filters which have an exemption permit plate. This means it may exclude some LTN filters – for example, diagonal filters where vehicle access would not be safe.

Which vehicles are not exempt

This exemption does not include services for transporting people with disabilities that are not organised or commissioned by us.

Organisations that only transport people with access or disability needs might be able to apply for an individual circumstance exemption.
