Hosted by Dalmage Active, this year’s Summer Camp invites children aged 5 to 15 to participate in a wide range of sports and fitness activities. From football and basketball to track events and team challenges, the programme is designed to promote health, confidence, and personal development.

Experienced coaches were on hand to support participants as they develop new skills and enjoy active play in a supportive environment.

As part of her visit, Cabinet Member for Children, Schools and Families, Cllr Zena Brabazon met with children attending the camp and joined in a friendly game of table tennis.

Cllr Brabazon said:

We’re in the thick of the summer holidays and we’re making sure as a council children and young people who are eligible for free school meals get a full day of sports activities and nutritious food – all free for the next four weeks.

This is a great summer programme, so I hope everyone has a really lively and enjoyable holiday.

Dalmage Active’s Summer Camp is also a contributor to the government-backed Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme, which offers free activities and nutritious meals to eligible children aged 5 to 16.

Delivered by trusted local providers, the programme aims to keep children healthy, engaged, and well-nourished throughout the summer period.

It’s still not too late to join the fun this summer and participate in the wide range of activities taking place across the borough. While many are drop-in sessions, a small number require pre-registration.

Stay updated with our "What's On?" calendar to search for all activities and events for children and young people by date, venue, or month. Events are often added to the programme, so be sure to check back regularly.
