There will be a pop-up engagement stall at Altair Close (next to Stellar House) between 8am and 8pm, when the council and our police partners will be on hand to speak to residents about their concerns as well as provide and record information. A repairs surgery will also be taking place at Stellar House from 2pm to 4pm.
This is all part of the ‘Clear, Hold, Build’ (also known as ‘Tottenham Together’) initiative in Haringey’s Northumberland Park and Bruce Castle wards as well as Edmonton in Enfield to help reduce crime and Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB).
The day will see a number of the council’s service teams – including ASB & Enforcement, Estates and Neighbourhoods, Housing Tenancy, Repairs and Engagement, Public Health (Bringing Unity Back Into The Community/BUBIC & Haringey Advisory Group on Alcohol/HAGA) and Waste (Veolia Haringey) – conduct joint patrols with the police and be stationed at the pop-up engagement stalls.
Haringey Council’s Cabinet Member for Communities and representative of the Northumberland Park ward, Cllr Ajda Ovat, said:
Community safety and the prevention of anti-social behaviour and crime is fundamentally important to businesses and residents in the N17 area.
I’d therefore encourage local people to engage with us and the police at the pop-up hubs or while out on patrols on key issues that matter to all of us.
We can build an even better, cleaner and safer Haringey together for us all to enjoy.
Since targeting serious and organised crime threats around drugs, gang violence and sex work, there has been a downward trend in total crime across the North Area Borough Command Unit (NA BCU) since the initiative began in June 2024.
