This partnership continues to be an important way for the council and local community to work together on practical steps to tackle the climate emergency.
A focus of the meeting was the Greater London Authority’s Local Nature Recovery Strategy and how it applies to Haringey.
Discussions looked at the best ways to protect and improve our natural environment. Attendees also explored what kind of support would help residents get involved in nature recovery efforts. If you're interested, you can sign up for updates about the strategy and take part in an upcoming consultation.
The agenda also included a closer look at reducing single-use plastics. This led to active talks about practical steps to cut down plastic waste across Haringey and how everyone in the borough can contribute to this goal.
On top of this, time was set aside to discuss Haringey's Borough Vision. This allowed residents to share their thoughts on the wider aims for the area and how climate work fits into this 10-year strategy.
