Mayor's Special Fund Appeal 2019/2020
A message from the Mayor of Haringey, Councillor Sheila Peacock:
I have decided to support four causes this year, each one that I have chosen has deep and special meaning for me.
I am again raising money for disabled and vulnerable children in the borough. Since I was last Mayor, I have been able, through the previous money raised, to provide many grants and also pay for children to go on holiday to camps that cater for their needs. I now have a new charity, it is a nursery called Step by Step, which caters for children who are disabled. The third one is Lymphoma Action, because 22 years ago I had breast cancer which left me with lymphoedema in my left arm. For further details please visit Lymphoma Action (external link).
I am also supporting the Friends of Pembury Nursery of Childhood, as I have been a Governor there for more than 20 years.
I want to help all these charities and good causes to carry on doing all the good work that they do.
My heartfelt thanks to all of you for your support.
