Each year, due consideration is given to the suggestions raised at post-event debriefs to improve the experience of the events for both festival/gig goers and local residents.
We would like to highlight the following points:
- additional fencing will be erected within the park along Seven Sisters Road so access in and around the park during event days may be different than in previous years
- access to the café, children’s play areas, the skate plaza, sports facilities and the tennis courts will be facilitated at all times
- Finsbury Park Station, Manor House Station and Seven Sisters Road will be very busy during the road closure times
- the exit route will take festival/gig goers out of the park via the arena entrance before the gig finishes. Once the gig finishes, the exit route will flip to the north east of the park and festival/gig goers will exit out onto Seven Sisters Road. From here, they will turn right for Finsbury Park Station and left for Manor House Station
- there will be security and barriers along Seven Sisters Road and Portland Drive, Alexandra Grove, Queens Drive, Wilberforce Road and Finsbury Park Road to prevent festival/gig attendees from exiting via side streets. Local access will be maintained
- the internal park route from Stroud Green Road and Oxford Road Gate will be closed for a period of time during the Wireless Festival weekend. A diversion route will be in place for local park users
- Finsbury Park Station’s exit route will be via City North from 6pm each night during the live, event-day shows
- ease of entry to the park for both the local community/residents and festival/gig goers will continue to be facilitated via the crowd management measures outside Finsbury Park Gate. These measures involve a combination of barriers and security guards
- Festival Republic have been working with Uber and Bolt to minimise the disruption taxi pick-ups have on local residents each night. Drivers have a designated pick up on Osbourne Road
- if you live on Alexandra Grove, Queens Drive, Wilberforce Road, Finsbury Park Road or Portland Rise or in the streets between Monsell Road and Seven Sisters Road and wish to book an Uber or private hire taxi on event days, then please be aware you will have to book it to a nearby location if between 8pm and 12 midnight on those days
- in conjunction with our partners, including the Metropolitan Police, and in order to constantly review the security situation, we encourage the public to report any suspicious activity to the Anti-Terrorism Hotline on: 0800 789 321 or 999 in an emergency
- you can sign up to the new Haringey traffic text alert service
