- Bereavement Advice Centre (external link) provides comprehensive advice on family bereavement, giving advice on funeral arrangement, family death counselling, etc
- The Compassionate Friends (external link) is a nationwide self-help organisation. Parents who have been bereaved offer friendship and support to other bereaved parents, grandparents and their families
- Child Death Helpline (external link) is based at Great Ormond Street Hospital and offers help and support to anyone affected by the death of a child
- Citizens Advice Bureau Advice Guide (external link) provides advice if you have difficulty in dealing with the deceased's property, possessions or guardianship of their children
- Court Service (external link) has information on Probate including application forms, fees etc
- The Counselling Directory (external link) provides advice on grieving and bereavement, and on what to look out for if you want to arrange bereavement counselling
- Cruse Bereavement Care (external link) helps people who have suffered a bereavement. It provides support through local volunteers
- Dying Matters (external link) provides advice and information on coping with bereavement
- Foreign Office (external link) provides travel information and assistance to UK citizens when home or abroad. They can also provide information about the repatriation of the deceased, if they have died abroad

- Healthwatch Haringey (external link) provide a list of organisations which can give advice on what to do after someone has died
- Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management (external link) provides guidelines about standards of service to expect from professionals
- The Jewish Bereavement Counselling Service (external link) offers support on Jewish bereavement
- Lesbian and Gay Helpline (external link) helps lesbians and gay men whose partner has died - especially in the first difficult hours and days of bereavement. Helpline: 020 7403 5969 - open Tuesdays 7.30pm-10pm
