We proposed introducing designated charging bays next to existing lamp column charging points at various locations in Haringey.
The existing charging points were installed in 2020. As dedicated parking bays were not introduced then, we received feedback from some residents that they were having problems accessing the charging points.
In 2021, we installed signs at the locations to advise motorists to keep the locations clear if not charging, with the aim of helping electric vehicles access the charging points. However, the issue remained and we continued to receive complaints.
To make sure electric vehicles can access these charging points, it was necessary to allocate electric vehicle-only parking bays next to these charging points.
In October and November 2022 we consulted on a possible introduction of 40 additional electric vehicle charging points at 15 locations across Haringey.
We received a good response to the consultation and would like to thank all those who took the time to have their say and make their views known.
As part of the decision-making process we considered all representations, and approved the introduction of charging points at the locations listed.
