Update: Hornsey Library

Hornsey EXT

The adults’ section at Hornsey Library remains closed while the council works with contractors to address issues around the presence of Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) in a section of the roof.

We are currently exploring solutions to ensure safe public access to the adults’ section while we develop comprehensive plans for the removal of RAAC. We will be providing a further update to residents as soon as possible regarding the timeframe for repairs and the duration of the closure.

Other parts of the library do not contain RAAC and are not impacted.

There is currently no access to the adults’ section, and limited access to PCs at Hornsey Library. Nearby Stroud Green and Harringay Library (Quernmore Road, N4 4QR) remains open as usual. Library services can also be accessed online at libraries.haringey.gov.uk

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the closure. While we are working as quickly as possible to reopen the affected area, the safety of library users is our utmost priority, and we are taking all necessary precautions to ensure that no members of the public or library staff are put at risk.
