Parking bay suspensions

The council will suspend the use of parking bays in certain circumstances for example to allow building operations, domestic removals and filming etc to take place on roads or streets that have parking restrictions.

If you specifically require space to be reserved for locating a skip and /or building materials within a Parking Bay, a suspension will be required.

Parking Bay suspensions require at least two clear weeks notice in writing to us.

Parking bays are suspended by placing appropriate warning notices on the existing parking bay signage. The start and end date of the suspension, and reason for the suspension are clearly displayed on the suspension signage to warn other motorists that they should not park in the location for the duration of the suspension.

Cost

Suspension charges:

  • £16 - Per single car space per day (or part of day)
  • £74.30 - Non-refundable service charge which includes site survey, signage preparation, installation and removal
