Great Mental Health Day 2023

The countdown to Great Mental Health Day 2023 has started!

We’re delighted to confirm that Great Mental Health Day (GMHD) is returning and will take place on Friday 27 January 2023.

In January 2022, Haringey marked London’s first-ever Great Mental Health Day with a variety of events. Thousands across London came together, sharing how they support mental health and wellbeing, and celebrating the great services, groups and initiatives doing this locally.

More than 20 events took place across Haringey and over 60 across London, many of which were held in-person, involving local walks, discussion panels and workshops.

Lead-up to Great Mental Health Day 2023

We couldn’t wait until the 27th to schedule these fun sessions so why not pop in to say hello on the lead up to the Great Mental Health Day.

Creative arts and crafts - 24 January 2023, 1.30pm to 4pm.

Celebrating the established wellbeing benefits from creative arts and craft activities, join us on 24 January for knitting classes, biscuit making and an art group. Aged 18+, no need to book.

Mindful Colouring - 26 January, 11.30am to 1pm.

Clarendon brings together mindfulness and colouring for adults to relax the body and still the mind. All resources are provided including colouring books to take away. Pop along, no need to book.

Building Resilience in Parents and Carers - online: Thursday 26 January, 7pm.

Join us for a free webinar focusing on how parents and carers can successfully adapt to challenging life situations, and deal with their own stress and anxiety - while navigating their families through difficult times.

Over 50s Art Classes - free!

These classes offer lots of opportunities to get creative, learn new skills and meet new friends. You don't have to be arty to take part as Pauline and Christina will guide you with their expertise and knowledge.

Our Social Prescribers are hosting Warm Welcome spaces across the borough.

A ‘pay it forward’ initiative and ‘kindness wall’ at these locations mean you can donate things beyond money and food. This could be a conversation, or an offer to go for a walk - anything!

Good Thinking are launching short guides for Great Mental Health Day 2023 on looking out for those around you, and supporting those who may be struggling with their mental health.

Great Mental Health Day is facilitated for Londoners, by Londoners. Anyone can get involved and you can celebrate Great Mental Health Day in whatever way you like - it is entirely up to you (just don’t forget to tell us about it!).
