Support for carers during the COVID-19 outbreak
We are here to help you
As a carer you are making a real difference by supporting the people you care for at home during lockdown and the many changes this has brought to your daily lives and activities. Many carers have increased the amount of care they are providing, with some families taking over full time, around the clock care, in a restricted environment, which can be hard at the best of times.
We know this adds to the physical and emotional stress for carers so we want you to know that you are not alone during this time, and that we want to help as much as we can by sharing information, links and guidance that you might find helpful.
We anticipate there will be higher demand for respite services over the coming weeks and months. We want to support you and enable you to access a break when you need it, so we are actively working to develop some additional residential respite options in the North Central London area to give you a break from caring, as we recognise the strain many of you may be under. We will be in contact when we have more information about this offer.
We also want to assure you that we continue to do carers assessments so if you are worried you may not be able to continue to provide care please contact us.
We know exercise is really important to people, particularly now when other activities may be unavailable, so we welcome the updated Government guidance that allows for as much exercise out of doors as you wish. Don't forget that Haringey's parks are currently open.

In the meantime, as we remain ifn Tier 2, we have put together a list of information and advice, online forums, support groups and activities for carers during the COVID-19 outbreak.

You may have additional information, links or advice that would be useful to other carers, so please let us know and we will update the information we are sharing. Please email Sebastian.firstname.lastname@example.org with your suggestions so these can be added and shared with other carers.
