Markfield is an inclusive community hub in Haringey where people can play, socialise and get information & support.

Our vision is a world where disabled, Deaf and autistic people are treated as equals, have a voice and can live the life they want.

Markfield offers a range of support services for parents/carers and young people such as: 

Shout: crisis text line and mental health support

Shout provides free, confidential support 24/7 via text.

Shout is the UK's first free 24/7 texting service for anyone in crisis anytime, anywhere. It is available in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

Text SHOUT to 85258 in the UK to text with a trained Crisis Volunteer.

Open Door Charity

Open Door is a charity based in Tottenham that specialises in the mental health and emotional well-being of adolescents and young adults aged 12-24. They provide easy access to a range of free evidence-based therapies delivered by an experienced team of therapists. 

National Autistic Society

The UK's leading charity for autistic people and their families provides support, guidance, advice, and more.

Their advice and guidance section has a wide range of information about autism, including diagnosis, behaviour, communication, loneliness, sensory differences, mental health, benefits and money, education, and more.

POhWER: charity and free advocacy services

POhWER is a charity that offers free advocacy, information, and advice services to help people who find it difficult to express their views or access support due to disability, illness, social exclusion, or other challenges. 

In Haringey, POhWER provides services such as Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA), Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA), Independent Health Complaints Advocacy (IHCA), and Care Act Advocacy. These services empower individuals by ensuring their voices are heard and their rights upheld.

Scope: charity for disability equality

Scope is a charity in England and Wales dedicated to disability equality. They offer practical information, emotional support, family and employment services, and a wide range of advice and support, including information on benefits, legal matters, and disability equipment.

SEND Power, parent carer forum

We are a warm and welcoming group of parents and carers of children and young people with SEND in Haringey.

We aim to offer support to each other, share information, listen to our members’ experiences and views, and give a collective voice to parents and carers of children with SEND in Haringey.

We hope that our strong, shared voice will mean that services for our children and young people will improve.
