Free school meals (FSM) in Haringey

FSM applications are now managed directly by individual schools in Haringey.

If your child attends a school in Haringey and you wish to apply for free school meals, please contact the school directly.

If your child attends a school outside Haringey, please contact the local authority for that area.

Already receiving FSM?

If your child is currently receiving free school meals and will remain at the same Haringey school in September 2025, you do not need to reapply – unless the school informs you otherwise.

The school already holds your eligibility details, including any eligibility transitional protection your child may have.

Transitional protection

If your child became eligible for FSM under the current benefits-based criteria, they will continue to receive FSM even if your household circumstances change, thanks to transitional protections introduced in 2018.

These protections will remain in place until the end of the 2025/26 school year (July 2026).

Upcoming change – September 2026

From the start of the 2026/27 school year, all children in households receiving Universal Credit will be entitled to free school meals, regardless of income level.
