Tottenham Voices

Tottenham Voices summary

Tottenham Voices has come to a close after 6 weeks of in-depth community engagement, pop-ups, drop-in events, workshops, DJing sessions and a football tournament with hundreds of young people, schools, businesses, creators, council partners and local heroes.

It’s been inspiring listening and working collaboratively with communities across Tottenham on shaping aspirations for its future, aligning with our Haringey Deal approach.

Using your feedback, we will work through spring 2024 to produce the Shaping Tottenham strategy, setting out our shared priorities for Tottenham’s future.

From summer 2024 onwards, we will have completed a new strategy for Tottenham; one that is ambitious, looks forward to the next 10 years and enables us to better harness the opportunities from Euro 2028 and beyond for Tottenham and its communities.

To keep up to date with email and news communications, sign up to our engagement website where we will be keeping the community notified of future events and opportunities.

Tottenham Voices introduction

Tottenham Voices is a collaboration between Tottenham's communities, the council and partners to develop priorities for shaping Tottenham’s future.

It builds on the conversations we’ve had with the community over the last few years about their experiences of Tottenham, with an increased focus on speaking to groups we haven't heard from yet.

By asking the right questions, listening to and building on what we have heard through previous engagement exercises, we will collectively shape Tottenham’s future to create a fairer, greener and safer place to live for all.

Tottenham

Tottenham is a diverse, complex and vibrant place with a rich tapestry of communities across our neighbourhoods and town centres, each with its own heritage and story to tell.

It has a population of over 100,000 people, award-winning parks, Bruce Castle Museum, Bernie Grant Arts Centre, Premier League football club, world-famous breweries, international super stars from the area, long-standing activists, poets, renowned artists, creatives, a powerful legacy of campaigners, conservation and history.

Large-scale placemaking programmes and collaborations are in design, planning or underway.

High Road West in north Tottenham will deliver 2,600 homes and create 3,500 jobs. 294 new council homes are being built on Broadwater Farm. Over £10 million is being invested in improvements to Down Lane Park and The Paddock nature reserve in Tottenham Hale. Bruce Grove town centre is being revitalised, Seven Sisters market is progressing, and the High Road is full of local art from shutter galleries to murals and installations.

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is also one of the host venues for Euro 2028.

While the last 10 years have brought investment and physical improvements to Tottenham, there is still work to be done with our residents, communities and businesses. We want to address key challenges and explore opportunities for Tottenham's future together.

We’ve heard from residents and businesses that your priorities are for a safer, cleaner and greener Tottenham. By working in partnership, we can bring out the best in Tottenham for the benefit of our residents and communities now and in the future.

Working with the community: Tottenham Voices

In 2022, we launched the Haringey Deal, which sets out our priorities to listen better and share power with our communities. Tottenham Voices builds on the conversations we’ve had with the community over the last few years, with an increased focus on speaking to groups we haven't heard from yet.
