Local Land Charges

Service update - 21 June 2022

Please note that our Local Land Charges system will be unavailable from Tuesday 5 July to Monday 11 July due to a critical system upgrade.

All searches received before this date will be returned, where possible, to you before the system goes offline.

Any searches received between 5 – 10 July 2022 will be processed once the system has gone live on the 11th. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this will cause.

Please note: We no longer provide a local land charges search service.

Since December 2021, our Local Land Charges Register has been migrated to HM Land Registry’s national register. You can access a new digital service through the HM Land Registry Portal (external link), Business Gateway and on the HM Land Registry’s GOV.UK pages (external link).

We will continue to respond to CON29 enquiries.

It is important to remember to only submit the required fee of £126 (including VAT) when submitting a CON29 enquiry to us.

More information is available on GOV.UK (external link).
