A Walk In The Park 2018 (PDF, 5MB)Haringey

Visit our beautiful award winning parks, walk through history, or visit the cafe in a park or just enjoy the award winning 'Green Flag' parks in our borough.

This new book, created by Friends of Lordship Rec, shows how to walk through Haringey and enjoy our hidden and not so hidden gems. Contact for a printed copy.

'Find Hari' Orienteering in 6 parks. Download the maps below:

To celebrate our renewed Walking campaign, we have set up some simple orienteering courses in six of our beautiful parks. Please go and enjoy the Autumn and encourage your family fitness in a fun educational way!

Download the map for the park you want to visit, or visit the park cafe. Then when you go to the park you can look for and find the 15 decorated Hari Bear pictures, each with a different message. Write down the message and email them to us at Let us know how many children took part and which park, we will send a little present out to you.

To add a little bit more fun, can you find everything in this Eye Spy in the Park game (PDF, 221KB)!

Pop-up Bike Maintenance sessions.

Download the Pop-up bike maintenance flyer (PDF, 176KB) for session locations and dates.

Last Chance! The final maintenance session for this year is at Bruce Castle Park café on 21 October, 2-4pm.

Bring your bike along for a quick maintenance check, repair punctures, adjust your brakes, gears and saddle etc. If you know you need a part replaced bring it along.

Cycle training and maintenance is delivered by Cycle Confident (external link) funded by TfL and Smarter Travel.

Air Monsters vs Air Rangers

What can you do to help improve the air that you breathe? Our short animation film gives you further information and advice. The film was developed by The Mulberry Primary School in partnership with Urban Outdoors and Smarter Travel Haringey.

Personal Travel Planning (PTP)

We are now delivering PTP sessions and assisting partners, carers and staff to re-assess their travel from home to school and are introducing Walking Zones to schools to encourage active travel for health and to reduce pollution and improve road safety at our schools. Email or telephone the Smarter Travel Team on 020 8489 5351.

Sky Rides and Breeze Rides

New Sky Rides (external link) have been announced throughout London that are open to men, women and families. Choose from Easy, Steady or Challenging rides.

Please contact us if you are interested in women only rides. We regularly advertise these here and the routes and dates are posted on the Sky Ride Breeze Website (external link).

Cycle Training in Haringey is Free

Free lessons for everyone who lives, works or studies in Haringey to learn to cycle safely and confidently, individually or in fun group sessions. We will help you learn to ride or improve your skills. These lessons are for children from the age of 9yrs and for adults.

Our cycle training provider has a programme to deliver cycle training to schools in the borough. Why not make sure you are road safe by contacting our training provider.
Improve your own cycle skills and enjoy safer cycling with your children too, by signing up for a lesson.

Active Travel Projects

Active Travel Community Projects Funding 2017/18

This year 10 organisations are running projects which support the community to walk, cycle or use public transport rather than driving their car. The organisations applied for up to £4,000 of funding from TfL to get their project started. Cycle maintenance project which includes the opportunity for participants who need a bike to apply for a free recycled bike through the scheme.

Muslim Action for Development and Environment (MADE)

Inter faith Cycle Ride – Tour De Salah

Various group rides from shorter 5km rides up to 100km around London. TDS was set up to encourage Muslims to get healthier and more environmentally consciences by riding their bikes for work and leisure. 

This year TDS is running a Faith Ride, where people of all faiths are invited to take part in the event. The rides will still stop at different Mosques, and may also stop at other faith centres along the way.

The date for the main ride is still TBC however this year we will offer

  • Heavily subsidised fees of just £10, for all individuals living, working or studying in Haringey
  • A free hire bike from Mobike if you do not own a bike
  • Smaller local rides suitable for families with small children
  • Practice rides through-out the year
  • Induction to cycling without stabilisers – with guidance to parents
