Active Travel Grants for Community Organisations

Smarter Travel have now awarded grants to organisations in the borough - all will promote walking and cycling schemes for residents. Unfortunately due to the current pandemic crisis, these schemes are on hold until  people are able to safely have social meetings again.

For more information on these projects, or to be included on our next award scheme, please email smarter.travel@haringey.gov.uk

Bike Maintenance - various Sundays in our parks from July to October 2020

Bike Maintenance in three of our parks - find the mechanic set up near to the park cafés.

Locations, dates and times:

  • Finsbury Park, N4 - 12 July, 9 August, 13 September, 11 October
  • Priory Park, N8 - 26 July, 23 August, 27 September, 25 October
  • Bruce Castle Park, N22 - 19 July, 16 August, 29 September, 18 October

Dr Bike Park maintenance sessions 2020 (PDF, 674KB).

Bring your bike along and let our mechanic check it for safety, improve your brakes, gears, get a puncture or two repaired and other minor adjustments.

Please remember that we cannot carry out major repairs and refurbishments during these sessions.

If your bike needs new tyres or brake pads, bring them along and they will help you get riding again.

For major issues they can assist and guide you - you will then need to make arrangements to get your bike fixed with a mechanic.

For more cycle related information see our Cycling page.

Sunday 20 September 2020

Car Free Day - your choice, your event.

Clubs, businesses, schools, residents and groups can access the street closure forms on our Play Street page, or if you are looking to close the road for a longer event you will need the Street Party information and Event App to create your application.
Anytime!

A Walk in the Park - all Haringey Parks

COVID-19 (coronavirus): please observe social distancing rules in our parks and stay at least two metres (six feet) from everyone else. Do not use the shared areas (playgrounds, outdoor gyms), do not mix with people from other households and keep your dog on a lead.

Visit our beautiful award winning parks: walk through history, visit a park café or just enjoy the award winning Green Flag parks in our borough.

This new book, created by Friends of Lordship Rec, shows how to walk through Haringey and enjoy our hidden and not so hidden gems - see the A Walk in the Park leaflet (PDF, 5MB)
