Active Travel Grants for Community Organisations
Smarter Travel have now awarded grants to organisations in the borough - all will promote walking and cycling schemes for residents. Unfortunately due to the current pandemic crisis, these schemes are on hold until people are able to safely have social meetings again.

A Walk in the Park - all Haringey Parks
COVID-19 (coronavirus): please observe social distancing rules in our parks and stay at least two metres (six feet) from everyone else. Do not use the shared areas (playgrounds, outdoor gyms), do not mix with people from other households and keep your dog on a lead.
Visit our beautiful award winning parks: walk through history, visit a park café or just enjoy the award winning Green Flag parks in our borough.

Pop Up Bike maintenance in 3 of our parks
Find us at the Cafes in the parks
First come, first served
Bring your bike along for a quick maintenance check – brakes and gears etc.
If you need things changed, such as brake pads, gear/brake cable, tyres/inner tubes bring it with you, our team can help but do not have everything.
Please note that for bigger repairs, please contact your local bike repair shop for assistance.

Try Before You Bike scheme
|We have organised for Peddle My Wheels to continue working. They offer you and your family the opportunity to own a bike on a pay monthly basis. See the Peddle My Wheels website (external link) for further details.|
Cycle Skills Training
Cycle Skill training sessions are now available for intermediate cyclists. So if you can cycle independently, but want to improve your confidence and road skills, book two 2-hour sessions through our cycle training company.

What can you do to help improve the air that you breathe? Our short animation film gives you further information and advice. The film was developed by The Mulberry Primary School in partnership with Urban Outdoors and Smarter Travel Haringey.

Cars near schools
Highlights the benefits of walking to school in contrast to the problems that cars create.
New Sky Rides (external link) have been announced throughout London that are open to men, women and families. Choose from Easy, Steady or Challenging rides.

Training currently suspended
We are sorry but we have had to suspend our cycle skills training programme this year due to COVID-19. We have advice and support on our Cycling page.
We are committed to delivering a more sustainable transport system.
Our aims are to:
- ease congestion
- improve the environment
- reduce road casualties
- help people become fitter and healthier
The Smarter Travel Haringey programme includes a number of schemes and incentives for residents and local businesses to take up, including ways to encourage people to start walking, cycling and using public transport more.
