Traffic lights

Photo of traffic light signalTraffic lights help to improve road safety and reduce accidents and hazards.

Traffic lights may be installed:

  • because of possible traffic hazard
  • to manage traffic flow from new developments, schools, leisure centres.

Except for temporary traffic restrictions related to road works, all traffic lights in Haringey are managed by the Directorate of Traffic Operations unit of Transport for London, who are responsible for both the placement and maintenance of traffic lights.

Reporting faults

Requests for reinstating traffic lights which are out of service should be made to Transport for London (TfL) 24hr Street Faults Contact Centre:
