Do I need a licence? 

If work is taking place entirely on private land or property, you do not need a licence. 

You must have a licence to:  

  • put up scaffolding and hoarding on a public maintained: 
    • road 
    • pavement 
    • path  
    • footway 
  • place a crane on a public maintained 
    • road 
    • pavement 
  • place a container(s) on a public maintained: 
    • road 
    • pavement

How to apply 

Please complete and return the appropriate application form to the email address on the form. 

Payment 

We will contact you once your application has been approved with the fee amount.  You will be given details of how to pay by bank transfer.

Safety 

It is a legal requirement during building work that everyone’s safety is ensured. 

All safety guidelines are included with your licence and must be followed at all times.
