Parking bay suspensions

Who can apply?

Parking spaces may be suspended for the following reasons:

  • building works (including the placement of skips)
  • filming (visit the Film Office pages for more information on filming in Haringey)
  • removals
  • statutory utility works
  • tree maintenance
  • funerals taking place at places of worship

Where can I park

A suspension to a parking space or spaces prohibits the use of the space or spaces by anyone other than the person or organisation that applied for the suspension. Parking spaces cannot be suspended to gain preferential parking for vehicles at the site.

Costs

Parking suspensions are charged at a daily fee of £26.35 per single car space, plus an administration fee of £105.35.

Parking suspensions for funeral services are free.

If the suspension has been processed, the cancellation fee is £52.75. If the suspension has been processed and suspension boards installed on site, the cancellation fee is £105.35

Should you require a Suspension longer than 6 months, we would advise you to consider applying for a Traffic Management Order (TMO) as this could prove to be more cost effective.

Hours

Suspensions only apply during the operational hours of the specific Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ), so please check the times of the location that you require before applying online. If you require a suspension outside of the operational hours, please contact the Network Management Team on 020 8489 1300.

Please note that some CPZs operate during the weekend, while others do not. If your application relates to a Monday to Friday CPZ, and you require a suspension that spans 2 weeks, please select the actual days that you require the suspension to apply.

If you require further assistance, please contact the Suspension Team on 020 8489 2153.

Skips and building materials

If you intend to use the parking space for a skip or building materials, you will also need a license to allow you to place those items on the public highway.

When to apply

Applications must be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to the date you require the suspension to start. This allows for processing and a period of advanced on-street warnings.

Enforcement

We will suspend the area requested, or equivalent nearby area and will notify our enforcement contractor of the suspension.

We always try to put up advance warning notices around 7 days before the start of the suspension, however, we cannot guarantee that the area will be kept clear. If vehicles are parked in suspended bays, please contact the Enforcement team 020 8489 2102 or Haringey Car Pound on 03301 358 949 to request a removal.

It is your responsibility to contact us and request enforcement.

Please note: we cannot always guarantee vehicle removal.
