Thursday 23 March - We are currently experiencing problems with our payment provider and you may have problems paying for Parking Permits, Visitor Vouchers or for Penalty Charge Notices.

Whilst this is being resolved we will not be enforcing Parking Permit or Visitor Voucher contraventions. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes.

Appeals Adjudicators

You can only appeal to the London Tribunals: Environment and Traffic Adjudicators when you have been informed by the council that your representations have been rejected. An application form will be enclosed with the rejection letter.

Your case will be considered by experienced lawyers, appointed by London Councils with the consent of the Lord Chancellor. They are entirely independent of the councils that issue the tickets.

You may choose whether to attend the hearing or not.

The Adjudicator's decision will be made on the evidence submitted by you and the council. If your appeal fails and the Adjudicator finds that you have acted unreasonably in making the appeal, you may be asked to pay costs on top of your parking fine. However, such cases are rare and the system is designed to be free and easy to use. If the council loses, the Adjudicator can ask the council to pay the costs.
