The COVID-19 vaccine rollout in England is to open to 42-year-olds, with about half a million more people being invited to book their jab from today. People who will turn 42 before 1 July are also invited to book their appointment.
The total number of vaccine doses given in the UK reached almost 46.3 million on Sunday, with a further 498,430 second doses and 142,215 first doses reported.
More than 33.7 million people have now received their first dose and almost 12.6 million are fully vaccinated. The Government has committed to rolling out vaccination to all adults in the UK by the end of July.
The order in which people will be offered the vaccine is based on advice from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI).
