UK COVID-19 vaccines delivery plan
The UK Government has announced that by 15 February 2021, the first dose of COVID-19 vaccinations should have been offered to everyone in the top four priority groups as identified by the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI).
These initial priority groups are:
- all residents in a care home for older adults and their carers
- all those 80 years of age and over and frontline health and social care workers
- all those 75 years of age and over
- all those 70 years of age and over and clinically extremely vulnerable individuals
The vaccine will then be offered more widely in order of age and risk, with the Government aiming to vaccinate all adults by the autumn.
As of 11 January, over 2 million people in the UK have been vaccinated, with over 5,000 of these in Haringey. There are currently three COVID-19 vaccines that have been approved for use by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).
For more information about these vaccines and how they will be deployed please see the UK COVID-19 vaccines delivery plan (external link).
