Travel guidance as lockdown begins to ease
As lockdown restrictions lift further this weekend, and more businesses begin to open, we want to remind residents that they should continue to work from home if they can, and reduce pressure on the public transport and road network by walking or cycling if possible, and by shopping locally.
If you must use public transport, please adhere to social distancing guidelines. Posters, signage, platform stickers and one-way systems have been installed across the TfL network, helping everyone to maintain social distancing.
Avoid peak travel times where possible and customers who do need to use public transport are asked to continue to avoid travelling during the peak times of 05:45–08:15 and 16:00–17:30 if they can. See the list of the busiest stations and bus areas to avoid hotspots.
You must wear a face covering for your entire journey. TfL has introduced an exemption card to support those customers who are exempt from wearing a face covering.
Everyone should wash or sanitise their hands at the beginning and at the end of their journey and carry hand sanitiser with them if they can.
