New Cabinet Member for Environment
Cllr Peter Mitchell has been appointed as Haringey’s new Cabinet Member for Environment.
Cllr Mitchell has been a Labour councillor for Woodside ward since September 2015 and has been selected as a candidate again for the local elections this May.
He replaces Cllr Peray Ahmet, who stood down from Cabinet at the start of January.
The environment portfolio covers a number of areas and services, including parks, enforcement, licensing, parking, refuse and recycling.
Leader of the council, Cllr Claire Kober, said:
Environment is a wide-ranging and important portfolio that our residents very much care about. Peter’s diligence, attention to detail and responsiveness will, I’m sure, equip him brilliantly for the position. I’m delighted Peter is joining Cabinet and welcome him to this new role in Haringey.
