A message to Haringey businesses in response to the Turkey-Syria earthquake

Publication date:
February 16, 2023

Haringey is home to many business owners from Turkey and Syria, where the disastrous earthquake struck last week. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected both here and in the region.

Cllr Peray Ahmet will be visiting businesses across Haringey to offer her condolences and discuss ways of working together.

As a borough, Haringey residents and businesses always come together in a crisis, and this has been no different. To find out more about ways to help those affected, please see our dedicated page on the Turkey-Syria earthquake disaster appeal.

Cllr Ahmet has written a letter of support to local business owners. You can read the letters below:

  • Letter to Haringey traders from Cllr Peray Ahmet – English version
  • Letter to Haringey traders from Cllr Peray Ahmet – Turkish version
