Meet your new Cabinet: Cllr Ruth Gordon, Cabinet Member for House-building, Placemaking and Development

Cllr Ruth Gordon has been involved in many of the borough’s key decisions since she was appointed as lead Cabinet Member for House-building, Placemaking and Development last year.

Cllr Gordon is a proud and passionate advocate for housing in Haringey and is committed to ensuring people across the borough are living in safe, affordable and sustainable homes. 

As a Haringey resident herself, covering the Tottenham Hale Ward, Cllr Gordon has a deep understanding of what the borough needs and will continue to ensure the council’s housing programme directly reflects the needs of residents.

With a firm focus to deliver a new generation of council homes and provide people in Haringey with the opportunity to thrive, Cllr Gordon will continue to work with people across the council to ensure residents are pivotal to all decision making.

With a keen interest and desire to better the lives of people across Haringey, Cllr Gordon will continue to focus on various portfolios across housing.

These include housing strategy and development, building high quality council homes, council housing estate renewal, community land trusts, housing needs, placemaking and property.
