Publication date:
October 27, 2022

Mayor of Haringey Cllr Gina Adamou with the Poppy Appeal collection boxOn the launch of the Royal British Legion’s annual Poppy Appeal, Mayor of Haringey Cllr Gina Adamou has called on Haringey residents to get behind the campaign and wear their poppies with pride.

The Poppy Appeal runs until Remembrance Sunday on 13 November and money raised goes towards the Royal British Legion’s welfare and benevolent work in support of serving and ex-service people and their families.

Mayor of Haringey Cllr Gina Adamou said:

"I am very proud to wear a poppy and support the Royal British Legion’s poppy appeal.

“I hope that Haringey residents will join me in paying tribute to those serving the country today, as well as honouring the countless service men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice and given their lives in service.”

Poppies and donation boxes can be found in all Haringey libraries and on the reception desk of River Park House and Alexandra House in Wood Green.
