Leader's statement - Wood Green incident

Cllr Peray Ahmet, Leader of Haringey Council, has given her reaction to the tragic double murder that took place in Wood Green last week.

Cllr Peray Ahmet said: 

“I am devastated by this double stabbing on our doorstep. Every life lost in this borough is one too many and it is shocking that a woman and her father have tragically lost their lives in their own home.

“I have spoken with the Borough Commander and we will continue to take every action possible to prevent this kind of crime happening again.

“The council are putting in place strong measures to work with our community and this includes marking the 16 days of action to highlight violence against women and girls.”
