The latest on Queen’s Wood Oak trees
Another four-week extension has been agreed between AXA and Haringey Council in relation to the four Oak trees in Queen’s Wood, meaning no further action will be taken until at least Friday 13 November.
AXA have sought additional arboricultural advice and guidance in this matter.
We remain keen to continue to work with AXA to explore whether, contrary to the initial expert advice, there are any viable alternatives which would avoid the felling of these four Oak trees in Queen’s Wood.
Cllr Kirsten Hearn, Haringey Council’s Cabinet Member for Climate Change, Equalities and Leisure, said:
It is essential that all avenues are considered as, like the campaigners, I don’t want to lose these four Oak trees in Queen’s Wood. We are keen to hear the latest findings from AXA’s arboricultural experts and see if we can find another way in this matter. I’d like to again thank the campaigners and local residents for their continued patience and understanding while we wait to learn what alternatives there may be available to us.
We will continue to engage with the campaigners in the meantime, and we will share any further updates on this website.
