International travel update
In order to reduce the spread of Covid-19 and potential harmful variants in the UK through international travel, the government has announced that anyone permitted to arrive into the UK will either need to quarantine at home or quarantine in a government-approved managed quarantine facility (hotel quarantine), for 10 days.
Those arriving from a country on the UK’s travel ban list within the previous 10 days will be required to quarantine in a Government approved facility for 10 days.
All people arriving into the UK will also need to take a test on day 2 and 8 of their 10 day quarantine period. This will provide an additional layer of protection against the risk posed by variants.
These new guidelines will be enforced by new fines to anyone flouting the rules. There will also be an increase in physical checks at private addresses where recent arrivals are quarantining.
