Haringey in Bloom
This year, our annual Haringey in Bloom competition will be slightly different due to Covid-19 and the rules surrounding social distancing – we are asking entrants to send photographs of their gardens in to be judged.
Whether you’re an avid gardener with a garden you take pride in, or you’re one of the many people who have taken up gardening as a new hobby in lockdown, we want to see what you’ve got!
All types of gardens may enter: communal garden, hanging baskets/window boxes, front garden, back garden, vegetable garden/plot, indoor or balcony display.
Winners will be invited to a celebration later in the year, in line with social distancing guidance at the time. The competition is open to all residents, residents’ associations, schools, and communities across the borough.
The Mayor of Haringey, Cllr Sheila Peacock, said:
I am so pleased that the Haringey in Bloom competition can still go ahead – I think it will be a brilliant way to bring some positivity to the community during these difficult times. Many people have begun gardening during lockdown, so this is a great way for them to show what they’ve done and take pride in it! I can’t wait to see the entries.
To enter, simply send us your name, address, contact details including email and phone number and return it with two pictures of the garden by Friday 24 July 2020 to resident.involvement@haringey.gov.uk. Alternatively, contact us on 020 8489 4463 to enter or for further information.
