A shortlist of three bidders for the £2bn Haringey Development Vehicle (HDV), which from next year will lead one of the UK’s largest regeneration programmes, was announced today. The three shortlisted bidders are Lendlease, Morgan Sindall with Affinity Sutton and Circle; and Pinnacle with Starwood Capital and Catalyst.
The shortlisting is the latest stage of Haringey’s search for a joint venture partner to deliver new homes and new jobs on Council-owned land, through town centre regeneration and housing estate renewal across the borough. The ‘Haringey Development Vehicle’ will be a 50/50 long-term partnership which will transform the borough over the next two decades by creating:
- at least 5,000 new homes
- a new town centre in Wood Green
- thousands more jobs for the area
The HDV’s programme will also be supported by major improvements to transport links which could include at least four Crossrail 2 stations, and by the Council’s wider regeneration programmes in Tottenham and Wood Green and the billions in other public and private investment which the borough is already attracting.
The leader of Haringey Council, Councillor Claire Kober said,
“Today we are a step closer to appointing a partner to deliver one of the biggest regeneration programmes in the UK. This £2billion programme underlines our ambition for Haringey and will transform our borough and the role it plays in London, with thousands of new jobs and homes for current and future residents.”
