Don’t miss your unclaimed Pension Credit
Residents in Haringey are being urged to claim all of the pension credit they are entitled to during the cost of living crisis following a new campaign that has been launched by the Mayor of London.
Pension Credit is a benefit that tops up weekly income for people who have reached State Pension age.
Unclaimed Pension Credit means that eligible households are missing out on up to £3,300. The receipt of Pension Credit also unlocks a range of further support, including with energy and council tax bills.
Councillor Seema Chandwani, Cabinet Member for Tackling Inequality and Resident Services said:
“£15bn a year of benefits are unclaimed every year in the UK, meaning Haringey residents could be missing out on millions. One of the largest unclaimed benefit is Pension Credit. We have proudly joined 21 other councils in the Mayor of London and Policy in Practice’s Pension Credit Campaign.
"I strongly urge anyone contacted by us to apply, does so. We have contacted you because we strongly believe you are eligible and you could missing out on over £3,000. Our team is ready to help you apply, and will support you through the whole process. This is your money, you are entitled to it. Don’t miss out."
Eligible Haringey residents would have received a letter already from our Revenues and Benefits team (The Income Maximisation Team).
