Be a volunteer responder
NHS Volunteer Responders was established in March this year by NHS England and NHS Improvement, amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The programme helps to protect the NHS and support the vulnerable and those who need to isolate as a result of the pandemic.
The programme is now seeking volunteers in the Haringey area to help support the NHS through its first COVID-19 winter. Volunteers will help to deliver food, medication, and other essentials to people’s homes, and also support NHS organisations with goods deliveries.
The app-based scheme enables volunteers to mark themselves on or off duty depending on their availability, making it easy to fit volunteering around other commitments.
The programme has so far supported 800,000 requests for help through the generosity of 360,000 volunteers. For more information and to sign up visit the NHS Volunteer Responders website.
