Haringey coronavirus (COVID-19) updates
Leisure centre reopenings
We’re pleased to announce that gym and group exercises are now back at Tottenham Green Pools & Fitness.
The teaching pool will reopen on Wednesday 19 August.
The gym, lido and group exercises are all now available at Park Road. The indoor pools, sauna, soft play, café and changing rooms remain closed. We will provide a further update as soon as we can.
Both leisure centres are subject to the following social distancing and safety measures to reduce risk to users:
- One way systems through the buildings
- Spacing of gym equipment
- Well-spaced stations for group exercise
- Sanitiser stations

COVID-19 restrictions change but fines set to go up
From tomorrow there will be changes to lockdown restrictions, with businesses such as beauty salons, bowling alleys, tattoo parlours and indoor play and soft play centres allowed to open their doors for the first time since March.
And there is some good news for couples wanting to tie the knot as wedding receptions for up to 30 people can now go ahead in COVID-19-secure locations.
However, the Government is warning that new fines are going to be introduced for people who break the rules.
People who continuously flout the face mask rules will risk fines of up to £3,200 and new laws are being introduced for those hosting raves or other unlawful gatherings of more than 30 people.

VJ Day 75th Anniversary
Saturday 15 August marks the 75th Anniversary of VJ Day (Victory over Japan).
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, many events and celebrations in Haringey to commemorate VJ Day have been cancelled or rescheduled, to ensure the safety of residents.
Whilst we know this will be disappointing, those unable to attend a remembrance event in person can visit the government’s VJ Day website (external link) for information, advice and activities to commemorate VJ Day at home and online.
For those celebrating at home and with others, we ask that you continue to follow social distancing guidance and wash hands regularly.
A two-minute silence will take place across the UK at 11am on Saturday, to honour the occasion, led by HRH The Prince of Wales, at the National Memorial Arboretum.
