Latest COVID-19 news and updates for Haringey:

Marcus Garvey Library reopening

12 August 2020

We know how much you value local library services and we’ve been working hard to ensure our libraries are safe for you to use again. We’re pleased to announce that Marcus Garvey Library will be reopening its doors to the public on Monday 17 August.

Unlike our other libraries, there will be no phased reintroduction of services, so all services will be available from Monday, including limited computer use, ‘grab and go’ and Ready Reads.

The library’s opening hours will be 10am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. There will be a one-way system in place, separate queues for the library and the customer services desk and all library users will be required to wear a face covering.

Find out more about Ready Reads and how to book a computer session.

Thrive LDN – mental health support available

12 August 2020

We know that navigating through the pandemic and out of lockdown takes a lot of adjusting and will, understandably, have an impact on the mental health and wellbeing of many people. We want to reassure residents that they are not alone and there is help and support available.

Thrive LDN (external link), a citywide movement to improve the mental health and wellbeing of all Londoners, has numerous resources and toolkits available to support those who may be feeling anxious about coronavirus and how it may affect them during this time.

Locally, the council also has many services and resources available to help residents to stay positive and support them with their mental health and wellbeing.

Coronavirus testing and face coverings

11 August 2020

The government has updated its guidance on who is eligible for a test and how to get tested. The guidance now includes a step-by-step guide as well as a guide on how to test on a child.

The guidance on when to wear a face covering and how to make one has also been updated.
