Haringey coronavirus (COVID-19) updates
There’s a full programme of activities this summer to help young people stay active and entertained – many of which are totally free.
The programme will look a little different this year to ensure activities are Covid-19 secure, but there is still plenty to choose from, from sports to arts and crafts. Check it out.
In order to keep the community and local services updated with the number of coronavirus cases in the borough, the council will publish a COVID-19 Weekly Briefing on the website.
These briefings will sit beside the council’s Local Outbreak Management Plan, which outlines how the council will work with agencies and other parts of the public health system to prevent and manage local outbreaks of COVID-19. The plan also seeks to understand the wider impact of COVID-19 on local communities.
On Monday 13 July, Wood Green Library will reopen for the following services only:
- Drop Boxes – users can return books in a designed ‘drop box’ situated just inside the library.
- Click and collect – collection of books that have been pre-ordered online or by phone
- Grab & Go – grab a self-selection of books by customers but with no provision to sit or stay to browse
Wood Green library will be open 10am to 4pm, Monday – Saturday, until further notice.
Muswell Hill and St Ann’s Libraries will continue with the opening hours of 10.30am to 2.30pm, Monday to Saturday.
Both libraries will offer drop boxes, click and collect, grab & go as well as up to one hour of computer use. Please note that the number of computers available will be limited.
We will provide an update on the resumption of other library services as soon as the information is available.
The government has given its assent for outdoor pools to reopen from Saturday 11 July and indoor gyms, swimming pools and sports facilities to reopen from Saturday 25 July.
We are currently assessing the situation with our leisure centre partners, Fusion Lifestyle, to create a phased reopening of the borough’s leisure facilities and help Haringey residents to get active. We will provide an update on the plans as soon as it is available.
Please remember to abide carefully by social distancing guidelines while you use all facilities. If you are feeling or displaying any symptoms of illness, please stay at home.
